I'm a born Detroiter but live in Indiana. I drive to Morenci, Michigan to get my pot and while there met a hippie-dude who told me it was his greatest wish to buy a home in Detroit. That tells me there is a 'great' desire among some people to move to Lé Detroit. Is it the pot? Is it the hipness? There's another element you're not factoring in. Also, out-of-town investors might be selling their holdings in Detroit because the prices have gone up. Simply a matter of taking a profit.
